Whether your sales team is newer or seasoned, brushing up on some helpful and proven ways to sell is a big benefit to success. Some people might be stuck in a rut and need a little nudge to try something different or maybe you have someone new on your sales team that wants to leave the gate with effective ways to start closing sales. Have you as a sales leader tried all of these 7 great sales techniques?
7 Great Sales Techniques
- Your Clients and Customers Are The Winners! – Tell great (and true) stories about the amazing successes your clients have had because of your product or service. When you tie emotion into the story about your client’s successes, other people can relate and are drawn in.
- Sense Of Urgency – Putting off success is not a great way to move ahead. Now is probably the time to enjoy solutions to a problem. Your customers will probably agree but need it spelled out more. Why do they need to suffer any longer, right? Let’s make this happen. A deadline for a quote or proposal is a good way to capture a sense of urgency for your product.
- Value – In the end, what will you or your team’s solution bring to new customers. How many more people will your customers serve because you have helped them? How much more money will they bring in next quarter because they don’t need to struggle with the old problems they’ve had?
- Circumstance – Your customer is going to buy from you because you can fix the problem they currently have. What area of the buying cycle are they in for the service or product they need? What is their issue or circumstance and how can you and your sales team member help them with the situation they are in right now?
- You Offer Something Different – If everyone on your block is offering the same product, what makes your product different? Maybe it’s something your prospect or customer didn’t even know they would love. Maybe your service is something they know they need, but don’t really even know why. Show them. Stand apart and you will draw your own buying crowd.
- Before and After Stories – How has your product or service helped people in the past? Who were those people before they used your item? Tell the story of how they started out and how amazing they are now because your product or service helped them.
- Work With The Advocate – This is a favorite sales technique. Find someone in the group that isn’t the decider in that business but loves your product. A member of the prospects team that knows how important your service is and how helpful it can be to their business. Approach this advocate. Guide them through your product or service more, share how fantastic it is and why. Move ahead and ask them to be your supporter. They can cheer for your business and help you maneuver through the channels on their end.
